Insurance Business Process Management Specialists Image Process Design Launches First Canadian Unit

Sept. 4, 2002, Bloomfield Hills, MI
-- IPD, a leading provider of integrated imaging, workflow, process automation and business process management systems for the insurance industry announced today their expansion into the Canadian marketplace with the formation of IPD Canada Corporation (IPDCC). The company, a wholly owned subsidiary of IPD Corporation headquartered in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan will open offices in Toronto, Ontario this week. IPDCC will be operated by a team assembled from former management and key employees of Chaps Group Marketing, one of Canada’s leading providers of Integrated Document Management solutions.

IPD’s new Canadian venture combines their twelve years of success as a business process management solution provider to over 42 major U.S. insurance companies with a rich source of talent and experience found in their new Canadian team. As a three-time occupant of INC. magazine’s list of 500 fastest growing companies, IPD America’s roster of over one hundred employees and 30M USD revenues will offer Canadian clients innovative, feature-rich software solutions, expert, process improvement-driven systems integration and world-class support services. As a company with a long history of financial stability and successful installations, IPD will offer Canadian companies a solid, experienced, low-risk vendor relationship.

Introducing Canada’s insurance companies to its well-regarded Ultera HealthSuite™ and Ultera LifeSuite™ integrated software solutions will be an important focus for IPD’s new Canadian team. IPD offers each of these solutions on best-of-breed back-end data repository and content management architectures from both FileNET and IBM.

IPD expects their new Canadian team to add value to their U.S. operations as well. With extensive experience in first-line FileNET support to Canadian clients across insurance, manufacturing and transportation, the unit will broaden its services to IPD clientele across the U.S. Moreover, IPDCC is expected to deepen IPD’s insurance focus while enabling it to deploy its extensive process management expertise and software across new business environments.

“We think the time is right to expand our reach in a serious way into the Canadian marketplace,” explained Steven Racine, IPD’s President and CEO. “We seized on the opportunity to assemble our Canadian staff from many of the best people in the business. As a recognized market leader in the U.S., we’re excited about adding this team to deliver the same tangible business benefits, as we have done here in the States, to a new family of Canadian customers.”

Arnie Teolis and Todd Smith will serve as directors of IPD Canada, which will operate as a newly founded unit of IPD Holdings, Inc. Mr. Teolis will serve as Director of Operations and Mr. Smith as Director of Sales.
